Tennessee Recovery Navigators are individuals who have personally experienced long-term recovery and engage with patients who have recently suffered from an overdose in the Emergency Department. Their role involves linking these patients with the necessary substance abuse treatment and recovery services. Over the course of three years, the Tennessee Recovery Navigators have collaborated with over 6,700 patients in hospital emergency departments throughout Tennessee. Out of this total, more than 75 percent of the patients have successfully been connected with substance use disorder treatment, all due to the assistance provided by the Recover Navigators.
